Even if Obama wanted to indict Bush, he couldn't. But he can hold inquiries that expose the Bush crimes. So Obama should NOT immediately repeal any legislation/executive orders pertaining to "disappearing" Americans on the say-so of the president. He should refrain from using them, but not immediately repeal them. Not until all the Bush crimes have been exposed. And then he should disappear Bush and his cronies. Only after that should Obama repeal that vile legislation. Does anyone deserve the labels of "enemy combatant" and "terrorist" more than Bush and Cheney? They've killed over 4,000 Americans and many tens of thousands of Iraqis. They've used terror on the American people to get their way. It's not only justice, it's poetic justice, if they are hoist by their own petard. This is not just revenge speaking (although I admit it would feel sooooo good to know these guys are behind bars). The fact is that each Republican administration builds upon the crimes of its predecessors because its predecessors went almost entirely unpunished. The next Republican administration will treat Bush 43's antics not as a ceiling but as a baseline UNLESS these guys are punished. Gitmo could become the new Spandau.
